About Us
At BOP Kids we offer before school, after school and holiday programmes that are designed for children aged 5-13 years. All of our programmes are Ministry of Children accredited which means not only do we meet and exceed all their requirements but you may also qualify for a WINZ (Work and Income) subsidy to assist with the programme costs. We provide a bridge between school and home life in a supportive social environment with indoor/outdoor play, board games, art and craft, sports equipment, technology and where children build independence in a supervised environment.
BOP Kids is a programme provided by the Belfast Community Network (BCN). The BCN provides various, services, projects and events in our local community. BOP Kids supports our community initiatives.
Our Philosophy
BOP Kids have four core values, GIVE. BELONG. GROW. EXPLORE. These stream from the theory of the circle of courage. The Circle of Courage provides a blueprint for reclaiming our children and restoring bonds of respect in our schools and communities. The Circle of Courage philosophy is not only compatible with Maori values and beliefs but also those of cultures “where the central purpose of life is the education and empowerment of children” (Brendtro, Brokenleg & Van Bockern, 2002)

Enrolling and Making a Booking
All of our enrolments and bookings are done through an online system called Aimy Plus. If you wish to enrol your child you will need to go to this website https://bcn.aimyplus.com and register as a new parent. Once you have registered yourself you will be taken through steps to enrolling your child and adding some important information such as adding a second guardian and emergency contacts. You will also be given the option of enrolling more children. Parents with shared custody are both welcome to enrol their child and are responsible for fees from any booking they have made on Aimy Plus.
Changing and cancelling bookings
If you wish to change or cancel your regular booking, we require one weeks written notice and If you wish to cancel a casual booking we require you to do so 24 hours before the start of the session. The best way to do this is to email Ashleigh: oscar@belfastcommunitynetwork.org.nz
Absences
Once your child is booked into a session, we expect them to be at the programme. If we have not been notified, and your child does not arrive, we will pursue all contacts until the child is located. Please advise us as early as possible.
Sickness
Please do not send your child to the programme if they are unwell. If they become ill during a session, you will be contacted to collect them as soon as possible.
Emergencies
Our staff are trained to deal with emergencies. In the event of a serious accident involving your child, appropriate medical treatment will be sought. In civil emergency our staff will remain at the programme until all children can be collected.
Child protection
Our comprehensive child protection policy includes reporting any suspected child abuse to Ministry of Vulnerable Children
Complaints
We view complaints as a positive way of improving our programme. Please contact the BOP Kids programme co-ordinator or download a complaints form from our website.
Public Holidays
If your regular booking falls on a public holiday you are still required to pay for the sessions booked on that day.
Fee Payment
Direct Credit is our preferred method of payment. Our bank account is BNZ 02 1253 0010359 00. Please reference your CHILD’S NAME. Payment of fees is due at the end of each week’s attendance. Statements of account are issued 4-weekly for your information.

- What is the difference between an invoice and a statement?
Invoices state the services provided and the total cost of our service only, statements show your account balance, services provided (invoices), payments received by parents and any subsidy payments to create a balance.
- Why am I not receiving statements or invoices?
The common issues are a change of details/emails. We are working hard to have up to date information and Aimy plus will help with this issue. Please contact us and we will email your one.
- Why do I receive invoices when I receive a subsidy?
We are required to send whoever has made the booking invoices.

Yes, if there are any late pick-ups your account will be charged $20 per 15mins.

Your account will be credited (credit note). This will be visible on your statements. If the amount is substantial, you may request a parent refund.
