About

Incorporated  in 2001 by a group of local community leaders, the Belfast  Community Network (BCN) is now well established within Belfast and more recently a new project in neighbouring Northcote/Redwood where Neighbourhood Links has begun work.

We aim to have services in our community that provide programmes, events and connectedness for residents.  We plan these by talking to our community and providing the best we can with the resources available and encourage our local groups to work together to provide support in their own wonderfully unique way to ensure we are doing everything we can that’s ‘Best for Belfast’!

Vision:  Support Our Community As It Grows
Mission: Best for Belfast

Goals

To deliver this vision we have four organisational goals:

  • To have a functioning facility for our neighbourhood that will provide a place for people to gather
  • To review, develop and sustain all service delivery in the context of changing client, community demographics and government policy
  • To enhance organisational systems, processes and resources (human & material) to ensure effective and efficient service outcomes
  • To develop and strengthen partnership opportunities for mutual benefit whilst staying true to our core values

Values

Our values are what drive our organisation by guiding behaviour and performance in our work. Our team will behave as: Community driven, with integrity, promoting partnership and relevance in our work.

  • Community driven – we listen to our local people
  • With integrity – we model honesty, transparency and knowledge
  • Promoting partnership – we will encourage community collaboration
  • Relevance – we deliver services to the community in a way that is relevant and up to date
